'NDC government is criminal' - Kofi Tonto claims

Political aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kofi Tonto, has criticised the NDC government over expenditure on the proposed Kumasi-Accra Expressway, claiming that a significant amount has been spent before construction has begun.

In a social media post, Tonto alleged that the government had already spent about US$1 billion on the project despite no asphalt having been laid.

"Without laying a kilometer of asphalt, the Gov has already spent about $1 Billion on the Kumasi-Accra Expressway. Just pre-construction works and clearing of woods," he wrote.

Tonto did not hold back in his criticism, adding, "Won't mince words, these guys are criminals!"
