Here's the latest update on slain Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah’s case

Relatives of slain Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) officer, Stephen King Amoah have revealed that the court has received all evidence in the murder case, including the DNA test results, with only a Cybercrime Vetting Unit report outstanding.

The family said the prosecutor has assured them that the pending report is expected to be ready by the close of the week, paving the way for the court to conclude the case.

“The prosecutor has confirmed that all evidence, including the DNA test results, has been received. The only outstanding item is the Cybercrime Vetting Unit’s report. They have given us the assurance that it will be ready by the close of the week so that they bring everything to an end,” the family said.

The Adabraka District Court has subsequently adjourned the case to July 29, 2026, for final judgment.

Two suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, are standing trial for the alleged murder of the 38-year-old immigration officer.

Stephen King Amoah, a staff member of the Ghana Immigration Service, was found dead under disturbing circumstances after he left his home at Ashongman Estate on July 3, 2025, to meet a friend.

His charred body was later discovered on July 9, 2025, at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, triggering a police investigation that led to the arrest and prosecution of the two suspects.

The case has since attracted public attention, with the family of the deceased awaiting the court’s final determination.
