The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 1,054 vehicles in the Greater Accra Region as a result of a nationwide road traffic enforcement exercise.
According to a post made on social media by the Ghana Police Service on July 21, 2026, the exercise is targeted at unauthorized use of horns, sirens, strobe lights, improvised vehicle modifications and other road traffic offences.

“The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 1,054 vehicles in the Greater Accra Region during an ongoing nationwide road traffic enforcement exercise aimed at clamping down on the unauthorized use of horns, sirens, strobe lights, beacon lights, improvised vehicle modifications, and other related offences,” the post indicated.
The post further indicated that those who were found culprits of the offences were educated on important Road traffic Regulations, while unauthorized devices and illegal vehicle modifications were removed and seized for further action.
The exercise began on July 15, 2026 and it forms part of the services dedication to enhance road safety, discipline and ensure obedience to road traffic laws.

According to the post a total of 4,627 vehicles has been impounded nationwide since the commencement of the exercise.
The police assured the public that similar enforcement exercises will continue across the country to improve road safety and ensure strict adherence.
