Producer inflation in Ghana slowed sharply in June 2026, with the Producer Price Index (PPI) dropping to 3.5% year-on-year from 5.8% in May, largely due to a significant decline in inflation within the mining and quarrying sector.

In a report released on July 21, 2026, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) stated that the 3.5% inflation rate means domestic producers received on average 3.5% more for their goods and services in June 2026 compared to the same period last year.

The sector, which carries the largest weight in the PPI basket at 43.7%, recorded the steepest drop among all major sectors.

Industry, excluding construction, recorded an annual inflation rate of 3.3%, down from 6.0% in May, while producer prices in the sector declined by 4.2% month-on-month.

Despite the overall slowdown, some sectors continued to record strong price increases.

Electricity and gas recorded annual producer inflation of 12.5%, while water supply, sewerage and waste management services posted 10.3%.
