A fire outbreak has destroyed the boys’ dormitory of CKC Senior High School (SHS) in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, leaving two people in critical condition and displacing 32 students.
The blaze, reduced parts of the dormitory and students’ personal belongings to ashes, forcing affected students to seek temporary accommodation.
According to a report by adomonline.com on July 23, 2026, the Headmaster of CKC SHS, George Owusu Gyimah, confirmed the incident and said the two injured persons are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
“We have two people who sustained injuries, and they are currently responding to treatment at the hospital. We are also making arrangements to provide temporary accommodation for the affected students,” he indicated.

Owusu Gyimah added that 32 students were affected by the fire and that the school management was working to support them while efforts were made to restore normalcy.
“Some of the students have lost their personal belongings, so we are appealing for support to help them get back on their feet,” he stated.
Some of the affected students have also appealed to the public for assistance after losing their clothes, books, mattresses, and other essential items in the inferno.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with investigations expected to establish what triggered the outbreak.
