'Romans 30:31': How Paul Adom-Otchere boldly quoted wrong scripture on national television

Seasoned Ghanaian broadcaster Paul Adom-Otchere has become a trending topic on social media after incorrectly quoting a Bible verse during his “Good Evening Ghana” programme.

In a video that has sparked massive reactions online and was sighted by GhanaWeb on July 23, 2026, Paul Adom-Otchere was heard referencing Romans 30:31.

According to the journalist, the scripture from Romans 30:31 notes that, “If you read Romans 30:31, it says, ‘What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?’” he said.

Per GhanaWeb’s fact check, the verse Romans 30:31 does not exist, as the Book of Romans has only 16 chapters.

The broadcaster appeared to have intended to quote Romans 8:31, which reads:

Meanwhile, the video has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many netizens sharing differing opinions.
