Popular broadcaster dies in road crash

The Berekum Municipality has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of renowned broadcaster Justice Bernard Danquah, popularly known as 99K.

According to a Facebook post by Sir Joe on July 24, 2026, the Morning Show host and General Manager of Jinijini-based Radio Adikanfo 99.1 FM lost his life after being involved in a road accident.

The post stated that the unfortunate accident occurred on the evening of Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Berekum Apraku Junction.

He was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum for emergency medical attention but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

"According to reports, the unfortunate accident occurred yesterday evening at the Berekum APRAKU Junction. He was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum for urgent medical attention, but sadly, he could not survive", the post stated.

Justice Bernard Danquah was widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential broadcasters in Berekum.

He worked with Akonoba FM in Sunyani and several other notable radio stations across Sunyani and Berekum before joining Radio Adikanfo 99.1 FM.

The late broadcaster was known for his distinctive voice, engaging presentation style and dedication to journalism.
