Dr Justice Srem-Sai is the Deputy Attorney-General
Deputy Attorney-General, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, has rejected claims by New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team member Dennis Miracles Aboagye that investigators from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) did not question him about the alleged GH¢55 million financial irregularities involving the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
Speaking on TV3's Hot Issues on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Dr Srem-Sai described Aboagye's assertion as ‘completely wrong’, insisting that he was questioned on the matter during his interrogation.
"Dennis Miracles Aboagye is completely wrong in his assertion that he was not questioned about the GH¢55 million," Dr Srem-Sai stated.
He said the public should not assume that claims made by suspects are accurate simply because law enforcement agencies choose not to respond publicly during ongoing investigations.
"Law enforcement, because of the nature of the work we do, and because it's an investigation, is not everything that law enforcement can respond to," he indicated.

According to him, EOCO is under no obligation to disclose details of its investigations in response to public commentary, stressing that evidence gathered during investigations would ultimately be presented before the courts.
"At the end of the day, we will bring you to court. We will charge you. You will have your day. Whether we asked you about 55 or we asked you about five, that's not even our headache. Whatever we find, we'll bring you to court," he noted.
He's very much aware of why he was kept in there. Let's not even go further."
Dr Srem-Sai also urged the public not to interpret the silence of investigative agencies as confirmation of claims made by persons under investigation.
