List of Ghanaian athletes who have exited the Commonwealth Games so far

Team Ghana has suffered some setbacks at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, as the contests intensify.

So far, about six athletes across boxing, swimming, and athletics have been eliminated after underwhelming performances against their opponents.

Despite these exits, it is worth noting that others are excelling in their disciplines, with Zinabu Issah clinching a silver medal.

This article highlights the athletes who have exited the Games so far:

Isaac Botsio (Sprinter) – Eliminated from the men’s 100m event after finishing fourth in Heat 9 with a time of 10.40 seconds, missing out on automatic qualification for the semi-finals.

Ramatu Quaye (Boxer) – Lost in the Round of 16 to Canada’s Wall Amber-Jane via unanimous decision. She was knocked down three times, once in the second round and twice in the third, in the Flyweight contest.

Ebenezer Ankrah (Boxer) – Defeated by Scotland’s Nicholas Delvin in a close 3-2 split decision.

Abdul Wahib Omar (Boxer) – Suffered a heavy defeat to England’s Patris Mughalzai in the Round of 32 of the Men’s 65kg category, losing 5-0 on the scorecards after two knockdowns.

Nancy Bamfo (Boxer) – Lost by unanimous points to Northern Ireland’s Nicole Clyde in the women’s 54kg Round of 16. Three judges scored it 30-26, while two scored 29-27 in Clyde’s favor.

Adelaide Dede Djabatey (Boxer) – Eliminated after losing by unanimous decision to Fiji’s Jasmine Duanakamakama.

Nubia Adjei (Swimmer) – Finished eighth in Heat 4 of the women’s 50m butterfly with a time of 30.02 seconds.

Unilez Takyi (Swimmer) – Competed in the men’s 50m backstroke but failed to advance, finishing seventh with a time of 27.13 seconds, just outside qualification despite entering with a 26.66-second mark.
