The Ghana Meteorological Service (GMet) has warned of thunderstorms over the western flank of the northern sector and parts of the transition belt this morning, Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
According to the update on X, slight rain will affect sections of the coast and a few inland areas during the morning and afternoon.
Patches of mist are also expected over the forest and mountainous regions in the early hours.
The Ghana Meteorological Service further outlined varying conditions across the country this morning, with rain, mist, and thunderstorms expected in different zones.

In Coastal and Southern Ghana, light rain is expected in areas such as Aflao, Anloga, Accra, Kasoa, Winneba, Cape Coast, Takoradi, and Axim.
Misty conditions will affect Ho, Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kwahu Tafo, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, and Sefwi Bekwai, while Kete Krachi is expected to experience rainfall.
Across the Transition and Northern belts, mostly cloudy skies will dominate Atebubu, Yendi, Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Nalerigu.
Mist is expected in Ejura and Goaso, with rain likely in Kintampo, Sunyani, Techiman, and Sampa. Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are forecast for Bole, Damongo, Wa, and Jirapa.

The Service has also cautioned that the state of the sea remains rough, urging coastal communities and seafarers to exercise caution.
