According to report, Yaw Nyarko attempted to rape Cecilia
A 40-year-old man has been killed by the brother of a woman he allegedly attempted to rape at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region.
According to multiple reports, the incident occurred when a woman identified as Celina informed her 28-year-old brother, Bismarck Gbafa, that 40-year-old Yaw Nyarko had allegedly attempted to rape her while she was returning from her farm.
Reports indicate that despite Nyarko being armed with a machete, Celina managed to free herself from his grip and escaped.
Her account reportedly enraged Bismarck Gbafa, who allegedly pursued Yaw Nyarko.
During the ensuing confrontation, Bismarck Gbafa is alleged to have slashed Nyarko on the left leg with a machete, causing severe bleeding. The victim reportedly collapsed and later died from his injuries.
Supreme Court declares delegate system unconstitutional
Realizing that Yaw Nyarko had died, Bismarck Gbafa reportedly surrendered himself to the Akyem Oda Police and informed officers about the incident.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy, while police continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Bismarck Gbafa is currently in police custody and assisting police with investigations following his voluntary surrender.
