Firefighters at the scene of the accident in Suhum
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a man who was trapped inside a Kia Rio following a road crash at Suhum Niifio on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on August 16, 2026.
According to a post shared on the official Facebook page on the GNFS on August 18, 2026, the accident occurred involved a Ford and a Kia Rio.
GNFS rescues driver trapped in truck crash
It said the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident, arriving at the scene at 8:03 p.m. with a six-member crew led by STNO II Darkwah Prince.
Upon arrival at the scene, it found a man trapped inside the Kia Rio.
"The firefighters used extrication equipment to free the man from the vehicle and transported him to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment", the post stated.
The GNFS further noted that, "Preliminary information indicated that the Ford F-150, while overtaking, collided with the rear of the Kia Rio".
It further disclosed that the crew also salvaged approximately salvaged GH¢50,000, US$5,231.81, mobile phones, power banks, National ID cards and other personal belongings.
No deaths were recorded were however recorded.
