‘I have really strived to be where I am today; it’s not been easy’ - Appiah Stadium

Ghanaian social commentator and political activist Appiah Stadium has spoken about his journey to success, revealing details about his family background, his parents’ influence and the challenges he has faced in life.

In a video circulating on social media, Appiah Stadium said his achievements are a result of God’s blessings, perseverance, and the opportunities he received from his family.

“I have really strived to be where I am today; it’s not been easy. When I’m stepping out, my children ask me, ‘Dada, which car are you going out with?’ I thank God; it’s God,” he said.

The outspoken commentator also shared details about his late mother, Ama Agyemang, whom he described as a successful businesswoman and a prominent figure within the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU).

According to him, his mother was known as the queen of GPRTU and had significant wealth during her lifetime. He claimed that she bought 10 cars every year and gifted one of them as a gesture of appreciation.

“My mother, who gave birth to me, Ama Agyemang, every year she buys 10 cars and she’s gifted one as appreciation,” he stated.

Appiah Stadium explained that his mother became wealthy after succeeding two rich individuals, adding that he was her last child and benefited from the opportunities her success created.

“My mother was the successor of two rich men, so she had a lot of money, and I was her last born,” he said.

He also revealed that his father, known as Agya Adu Driver, was a soldier, while most of his father’s children are currently based in Amsterdam.

Appiah Stadium noted that although his family’s financial situation has changed over the years, he was fortunate to inherit some of the wealth and has chosen to use what he has to support others.

“Today there’s not much money in the house; I got a little out of it, and I try to be generous and help others with it,” he added.

The political activist further disclosed that his niece is the Ahafo Regional Minister, highlighting the achievements of members of his family.

“My mother was so rich that she used to buy 10 cars at a go every year and receive one as a gift, while my father was a soldier. Most of my siblings are in Holland and Amsterdam, and the Ahafo Regional Minister is my niece.”
