Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has sparked fresh concern after collapsing during a pre-season friendly against Heidenheim, just four days after suffering a similar incident against RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old midfielder was introduced as a second-half substitute in Bayern’s 4-2 victory over Heidenheim on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, but his return to action was cut short after he suddenly went down on the pitch.

Players from both teams immediately gathered around Musiala as medical staff attended to him. He was eventually helped from the field and did not return to the game.

The incident came only days after Musiala had collapsed during Bayern’s 3-1 friendly win over RB Leipzig on Saturday. He had undergone medical examinations following that episode and had returned to training before Tuesday’s match.

However, Musiala has now revealed that the incidents are linked to a neurological condition.

In a statement, the German international said doctors had diagnosed him with temporary and treatable neurological absences, which can cause the episodes he experienced against Leipzig and Heidenheim.

He stressed that he is receiving specialist medical care and that there is no serious long-term health risk.

Musiala also expressed optimism about his recovery and said he intends to continue playing football after receiving medical guidance.
