New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary hopeful Sylvester Tetteh has visited some sick party members receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital as part of his campaign engagements with constituency executives and other stakeholders in the Northern Region.

The visit, described as part of his commitment to the welfare of party members, focused attention on the need for greater support for NPP members facing health challenges and other difficult circumstances.

During the visit, Sylvester Tetteh stressed the importance of establishing a robust and sustainable party welfare system that can provide meaningful assistance to members who fall ill, encounter difficulties or require support.

He said leadership should go beyond election campaigns and the pursuit of political positions, arguing that it must also be centred on compassion, responsibility and the well-being of party members.

According to him, the strength of the NPP should be reflected not only in its electoral performance but also in how it treats and supports its members, particularly during difficult times.

The visit forms part of his broader campaign activities ahead of the party's internal elections, during which he has been engaging constituency executives and other stakeholders across the Northern Region.

Sylvester Tetteh's campaign has emphasised the need to rebuild the party by strengthening its internal structures and prioritising the welfare of its members.

He believes a stronger NPP is one that stands by its members in both good times and moments of adversity.

The visit to the Tamale Teaching Hospital therefore formed part of his call for a more caring and responsive party, where the welfare of members remains an important component of leadership.

Known among his supporters as the “Wartime General,” Sylvester Tetteh says his leadership vision is centred on rebuilding the party, caring for its members and strengthening the NPP for future electoral contests.
