12‑year‑old Ofankor Barrier crash survivor calls for help

A 12-year-old girl who survived the deadly multi-vehicle crash at Ofankor Barrier on August 13, 2026, calls for help in locating her deceased father.

According to a news report by TV3 Ghana and sighted on X on August 21, 2026, Angelina Naa Adorkor, since regaining consciousness, has repeatedly asked for her father, who died at the scene.

The report added that the girl is severely traumatised and is receiving psychological support and treatment after losing both of her legs.

"Sister Sandra, it is paining me. Dada dada (Daddy daddy), she was heard saying in the video.

"In excruciating pain at the Ga East Hospital, young Angelina has been calling for the father every day. She does not know that he did not survive the crash. Doctors say she is severely traumatised and is receiving psychological support and treatment for the physical injury," TV3 Ghana reported.

Angelina and her father were reportedly en route to a morgue to visit the body of Angelina’s recently deceased mother when their vehicle became involved in a multi-vehicle collision.

She sustained severe injuries, including the amputation of both legs below the knees, fractures, and other trauma requiring emergency surgery and blood transfusions.

The crash, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, August 13, 2026, along the Ofankor Barrier stretch of the Accra–Kumasi highway around 4:00 am, involved seven vehicles, including two tipper trucks, two Sprinter buses, two saloon cars and a tricycle.

It left 12 people dead and more than 20 others injured, according to reports from the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Road Safety Authority.

The incident has left Angelina orphaned.

Her family is, however, appealing for public support to cover ongoing medical treatment, rehabilitation, and related needs.
