The Ayew family has joined Asamoah Gyan and his family to observe the one-week celebration of his late father, George Gyan Baffour Mensah, in Accra.
Ghana football legend Abedi Pele, together with his sons, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Rahim Ayew, were among those spotted at the ceremony on Friday, August 21, 2026, as they arrived to mourn with the Gyan family.
The Ayews were seen exchanging pleasantries with members of the bereaved family and other mourners who had gathered to pay their respects to the late Gyan Baffour Mensah, affectionately known as Asaase Jay.
Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi was also present at the ceremony, adding to the gathering of prominent figures from Ghana's football community.

George Gyan Baffour Mensah, father of former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffour Gyan, died in Accra on June 29, 2026, at the age of 82 following a short illness.
The family scheduled the Ghanaian one-week observation for Friday, August 21, at the New Gbawe Cluster of Schools in Mallam-Gbawe, Accra, where family, friends, football personalities and sympathisers have gathered to mourn the late patriarch.
