GAF dismisses claims former CDS Thomas Oppong-Peprah is under probe

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed reports alleging that former Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, is under investigation for various infractions.

In a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations at General Headquarters, Burma Camp, the GAF described the report as false, malicious and without basis.

General Oppong-Peprah, who currently serves as Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner to Canada, was reportedly alleged to be under investigation by the Ghana Armed Forces.

The GAF, however, has emphatically denied the claim, stating that no such investigation is being conducted against the former CDS.

“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to state emphatically that the story is false and groundless. No such investigation is being undertaken,” the statement said.

The military has therefore urged the public, particularly well-meaning citizens, to disregard the report and refrain from spreading what it described as misinformation.

The GAF further cautioned against the circulation of unverified information that could mislead the public or damage the reputation of individuals.
