Video of late Dr Murtala's vetting resurfaces as Dr Zanetor faces committee

Footage of the vetting of the late Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Murtala Mohammed, has resurfaced as his successor, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, appears before the vetting committee today, August 27, 2026.

Dr Murtala Mohammed, who died alongside seven others while travelling to an event about fighting illegal mining in Obuasi on August 6, 2025, was widely praised for his pragmatic leadership during his time as Minister of Environment, Science and Technology.

Following his untimely death, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has been nominated to take up the role and has been tipped by some observers as a suitable candidate to continue the work of her predecessor.

Known for her dedication and discipline, Agyeman-Rawlings is expected to build on the achievements of Dr Murtala Mohammed if she receives Parliament’s approval.
