FIFA agent reveals why he advised Libyan club against signing Jordan Ayew

A FIFA-licensed agent, Nana Kwarteng, has disclosed that he advised a Libyan club against signing Jordan Ayew due to his role as captain of the Black Stars.

According to him, Libyan side Al Swehly explored Ayew as part of their search for an attacker, showing strong interest in his profile and planning to launch a transfer bid.

However, Kwarteng explained that he opposed the move, warning that it could have a ripple effect on Ayew’s career because of his captaincy responsibilities with the national team.

“Al Swehly initially wanted to sign Jordan Ayew, but I advised against it because he is captain of the Black Stars,” he said, as reported by Max TV.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew is currently without a club following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City, who were relegated in the 2025/2026 season.

He occasionally trains at Nania Park to maintain fitness, alongside players such as Mubarak Wakaso, his brother Andre Dede Ayew, and others.

As the summer 2026 transfer deadline approaches, Ayew and his camp are working tirelessly to secure a new club before the window closes, with the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers looming in September 2026.
