Justice Edward Amoako Asante, a Justice of the Court of Appeal, has appeared before Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting following his nomination to the Supreme Court by President John Dramani Mahama.
His appearance before the committee is expected to focus on his judicial experience, knowledge of the law, professional record, understanding of constitutional principles, and his suitability to serve on the apex court.
Justice Edward Amoako Asante served as the former President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice and recently completed his tenure at the regional court.
He served three terms, totaling six years, as President until October 2024, when he relinquished office as the sixth President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice.
