Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, requested that the Clerk of Parliament re-administer the oath to Environment, Science and Technology Minister-designate, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, following a procedural issue during her appearance before the Appointments Committee.
The incident occurred as the Committee conducted the vetting of Dr Agyeman-Rawlings, who is also the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle.

In the video recording of the session, she was captured taking the oath before the panel.
However, after the initial administration, the Efuttu MP intervened, insisting that the oath be administered again to ensure proper adherence to parliamentary procedure.
"Madam Clerk, let's do it again and properly. First of all, you may have to enquire from the nominee based on her own faith and intention on how she would like to take the oath. Whether by affirmation, by the cross, the Holy Quran or the Bible," he said.
"...The nominee was holding the Bible, and you were administering affirmation. That is not the right way, so, privately off the record, you must first enquire from her on what she would like to take the oath with. When done, then you proceed. So please kindly take it again," he added.
