Both suspects have been put before the Ofaakor Circuit Court pending further investigations
The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery attack at a mobile money vending point at Gomoa Dominase in the Central Region that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old mobile money vendor.
The attack, which occurred on Saturday, June 6, 2026, saw the robbers make away with several items, including an iPhone 13 Pro belonging to the deceased.
The Police said investigations into the case took a major turn after the stolen iPhone was activated, allowing investigators to trace the device.
In a statement dated August 27, 2026, the Command said its intelligence led to the arrest of Isaac Baffoe, alias Kwame Cheddo, at Kwesimintsim in Takoradi on June 26, 2026.
A search on Baffoe resulted in the recovery of the stolen iPhone 13 Pro, which had allegedly been concealed in an iPhone 17 safety phone case together with other mobile phone accessories.
The Police said Baffoe subsequently led investigators to Prince Tawiah Baidoo, a phone technician at Kwesimintsim, who allegedly admitted repairing the stolen device.

According to the Police, Baidoo confessed to replacing the motherboard, Face ID component and camera sensors of the iPhone at a cost of GH¢2,650.
A search of Baidoo’s residence also led to the recovery of a box containing the original motherboard, Face ID component and camera sensors removed from the deceased’s phone.
“Both suspects have since been put before the Ofaakor Circuit Court pending further investigations,” the statement said adding that the iPhone and its original and refurbished components had been retained as exhibits.
The Police said investigations were ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the robbery gang and persons who may have been involved in handling the stolen phone.
The Command also appealed to the public to support the investigation with credible information.
“The Command further appeals to any person(s) with credible information to contact the Police Emergency numbers 191 or 18555, or report to the nearest police station,” it stated.
