Watch as 'loading boy' clings to speeding trotro over unpaid fee

A viral video capturing a trotro loading boy clinging to the bonnet of a speeding vehicle in Accra has caused outrage on social media.

The clip, shared by an X, shows the loading boy hanging onto the front of the car as the driver sped off, allegedly after refusing to pay him the agreed fee for filling the vehicle with passengers.

According to the post's caption, "A trotro loading boy had to be carried on the bonnet of a troski because the driver refused to give him the agreed fee after he filled the car with passengers."

Loading boys are a common sight at bus stops across Accra, where they call out for passengers on behalf of trotro and taxi drivers in exchange for a small fee once the vehicle is filled.

However, disputes over payment tend to occur, and some loading boys have previously been known to react aggressively when they feel short changed.

The video has many social media users reacting with a mix of shock at the risky scene.

It remains unclear whether the driver eventually paid the boy or how the situation was resolved.
