Pastor Hills Emmanuel, the Ghanaian-Nigerian pastor who was abducted and later found dead
A Ghanaian-Nigerian pastor, Hills Emmanuel, has been found dead after he was abducted by gunmen while travelling from Jos to Bokkos in Plateau State, Nigeria.
SaharaReporters reported that Pastor Emmanuel was abducted on Friday, August 28, 2026, alongside Pastor Gabriel Joseph Dipak of the Christ Apostolic Church.
The two clerics were reportedly travelling from Jos to Bokkos when their vehicle was stopped by armed men along the Barkin Ladi-Bokkos road.
According to witnesses cited in the report, the attackers mounted a roadblock less than a mile from military checkpoints located on both sides of the road.
The gunmen reportedly stopped a commercial minivan carrying nine passengers and dragged the two pastors out of the vehicle.
They allegedly seized phones and cash belonging to the other passengers before releasing them.
Police later recovered the stolen items at the scene, according to the report.
Emmanuel’s body was found early Saturday morning, August 29, 2026, near the location where the two pastors had been abducted.
The deceased, who was based in Plateau State, was the founder of The Wonderful Grace of God Evangelical Ministry in Bokkos.
He was also a former pastor with Dunamis Church.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Pastor Dipak are unknown, although the abductors had reportedly contacted his family.
The killing of the pastor was among several attacks reportedly recorded across Plateau State on August 28, 2026.
According to SaharaReporters, four other attacks occurred around 9pm in communities located between 10 and 20 miles from the site of the pastors’ abduction, leaving three people dead and at least one person injured.
