Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX), Ophelia M. Atoklo
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX), Ophelia M. Atoklo, has been invited as a guest speaker at the 2026 Ohio Growth Conclave in Columbus, Ohio, United States.
The two-day international investment and trade event, scheduled for October 29 and 30, 2026, will focus on “Agriculture, Value Addition, Trade and Export – Unlocking Africa's Investment Future".
The invitation to Atoklo reflects the growing importance of Ghana’s commodity trading and agricultural value chain in efforts to deepen investment, trade and export opportunities between Africa and international markets.
The Ohio Growth Conclave is being jointly organised with Agricwealth Ghana, an institution focused on promoting sustainable development, trade exchange, and investment flows between Africa and global markets.
Ophelia M. Atoklo, who serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, is expected to bring her experience and insights from Ghana's commodity trading sector to discussions on how Africa can unlock greater value from its agricultural resources.
The organisers say the conclave will bring together about 200 participants, including government officials, foreign missions and consulates, trade representatives, private sector leaders, multinational investors, agricultural entrepreneurs, manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises, financial institutions, development agencies and investment funds.
Ohio City Council leaders, academic institutions and chambers of commerce are also expected to participate.
The event will be hosted at the Hilton at Easton Columbus in Ohio and is expected to provide a platform for discussions on agricultural investment, value addition, trade and export development.
According to the organisers, the conclave is designed to strengthen investment and trade linkages between Africa and global markets, with particular emphasis on unlocking opportunities across the agricultural and industrial value chains.
According to the invitation, the organisers have previously convened similar investment-focused events, including the Africa Agriculture Investment Summit in London in 2024 and 2025, Toronto in 2025 and Columbus in 2026, as well as the Ghana Youth Agriculture Summit in 2026.
The organisers believe Atoklo's participation will contribute to efforts to deepen economic and cultural diplomacy and strengthen international cooperation around Africa's investment opportunities.
Her participation will also place Ghana's commodity exchange and agricultural trading ecosystem before an audience of international investors, financial institutions, development agencies and private-sector leaders at a time when the country continues to seek greater investment in agriculture, value addition and export-oriented production.
The Ohio Growth Conclave is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to explore practical partnerships and investment opportunities that can support agricultural transformation, expand trade and create stronger connections between African producers and international markets.
