'Forget about that false prophet' - Dr Ayew's response to a question about Rev Owusu-Bempah

The Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, has expressed displeasure over recent controversial prophecies by Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, concerning the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2028 general election Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on September 9, 2026, Dr Ayew Afriyie was asked about Reverend Owusu-Bempah’s recent statements and his prophecy concerning the NPP.

The MP reacted angrily, saying, “OB, forget about that false prophet. Forget about him. He is intimidating people. Read your Bible and get it right.”

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah has openly declared his intention to prevent Dr Mahamudu Bawumia from gaining political power, warning that the NPP has no chance of winning the 2028 general election.

The outspoken preacher made the remarks during a church service on Sunday, August 9, 2026, framing his opposition to Dr Bawumia in religious terms and citing past grievances as the basis for his position.

He pledged to take active steps to prevent the NPP from returning to power, stating, “So far as I’m alive, I won’t sit down for Bawumia to win power and come and disturb Christianity. I will curse anyone who votes for the NPP.”

The preacher also pointed to a personal disagreement with the party as one of the reasons behind his position. He insisted that, because of what he claims the NPP did to him, he would devote himself to ensuring the party’s collapse.
