President Mahama commends GoldBod over GH¢896.5 million profit

President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Ghana Gold Board for its strong financial performance during the 2026 Governing Boards and CEOs Conference organised by the State Interests and Governance Authority.

Highlighting the remarkable growth of the institution, President Mahama revealed that GoldBod recorded a net profit of approximately GH¢896.5 million in the latest financial period, representing a massive leap from the GH¢178.5 million recorded in 2024.

Speaking at the conference, the President stated that the impressive performance reflects the strategic importance of building transparent, accountable, and nationally beneficial structures around Ghana’s gold trade.

While describing the financial turnaround as highly encouraging, President Mahama emphasised that maintaining sustained performance over time remains the ultimate test for the board's management and leadership.
