Assin Fosu Kidnapping: Police rescue 30-year-old man after alleged abduction

The Central North Regional Police Command has rescued a 30-year-old man who was reportedly kidnapped at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

In a statement shared by the police on September 11, 2026, the victim, identified as Bismark Amoh, is currently undergoing medical treatment following his release, while the police continue their search for the alleged abductors.

“The Central North Regional Police Command has rescued a 30-year-old man who was allegedly abducted at Assin Fosu in the Central Region. The victim is currently receiving medical attention while efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspects. Investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the abduction and any further details will be communicated,” the police statement read.

Security guard remanded over alleged murder of couple

Amoh was reportedly seized on September 6, 2026, and remained in the custody of his captors for more than two days.

During the period, the suspects allegedly contacted his family and initially demanded GH¢45,000 for his release. The amount was later increased to GH¢50,000.

The family reportedly raised GH¢19,500 and transferred the money to the kidnappers, but the payment did not secure Amoh’s release.

The suspects subsequently sent the family audio and video recordings via WhatsApp, allegedly showing the victim tied up and being physically assaulted.

Police investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those behind the incident. The Command says additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
