Medeama's CAF Champions League campaign came to an end after a 3-1 defeat at TP Mazembe saw the Ghanaian champions eliminated 4-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round.

The Yellow and Mauve side travelled to Lubumbashi hoping to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit from last week's meeting at the TNA Stadium, but the five-time African champions proved too strong on home soil.

Patrick Mwanungulu put TP Mazembe ahead after 16 minutes before Kazema Baso doubled the lead eight minutes later to leave Medeama with a mountain to climb.

Mwanungulu struck again in the 78th minute to put the result beyond doubt, although Dominic Amponsah pulled one back for the visitors three minutes from time.

The Congolese side progressed to the next stage of the competition with a 4-1 aggregate victory and will face Zambia's Red Arrows FC in the next round.

Medeama will now shift their focus to the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League as they begin the defence of their domestic title.
