Ghana to reopen Mission in Ireland

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson, has engaged the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Dublin, Dr Lahcen Mahraoui, as part of his official working visit to Ireland ahead of the re-opening of Ghana’s Mission in the country.

The meeting, held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, provided an opportunity for the two diplomats to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for strengthening diplomatic relations between Ghana and other members of the diplomatic community in Ireland.

Dr Mahraoui, who is the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland, also serves as Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Dublin.

The engagement formed part of activities ahead of the re-opening of Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Ireland, with discussions focusing on cooperation and collaboration within the diplomatic community.

According to a post shared on Facebook on Friday, September 25, the meeting underscored Ghana’s commitment to constructive dialogue and stronger diplomatic partnerships.

The engagement is expected to contribute to efforts to deepen cooperation and advance shared interests among Ghana, Morocco and other members of the African diplomatic community in Ireland.
