Dennis Miracles Aboagye is a former Executive Secretary of IMCCoD
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly frozen assets of New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, whom it is investigating for alleged misappropriation of about GH¢55 million when he was the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
EOCO had earlier secured a High Court order to freeze the assets of Miracles Aboagye, including five of his bank accounts, a seven-bedroom residential property at Larteh in the Eastern Region, a two-bedroom residential property at Spintex in Accra, a residential apartment complex at Adjiringanor in Accra and fifteen acres of land at Larteh in the Eastern Region.
According to Solomon Owusu, the Director of Communications for the United Party (UP), the number of properties of Miracles Aboagye, a National Communications Director hopeful of the NPP, has increased to 17.
“What I’m understanding now is the astonishing worth of the guy. Initially, they said they had seized four of his properties. I can tell you that now it is about 17. Quote me anywhere.
“They shouldn’t annoy me in this country. I swear by my late father, Kwame Sarkodie; the properties have increased to 17… Quote me anywhere, the buildings seized have increased to 17,” he said in an interview on Accra FM on September 28, 2026.

Solomon Owusu went on to question how Miracles Aboagye was able to acquire the properties that have supposedly been seized by EOCO.
He made these claims while reacting to the latest development on EOCO’s investigation involving the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah.
He said that the MP claims that his attempted arrest by EOCO was because he was representing Salomey Awiti Baffoe in the Ghana Jollof public incitement case, but it has turned out that the office has been looking for him since 2025.
About the case against Miracles Aboagye:
According to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Miracles Aboagye was arrested after its officers uncovered significant new findings last week in connection with suspected fraud and theft as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged misappropriation of about GH¢55 million at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).

The office said that Miracles Aboagye was already aware of the investigation and had previously appeared before EOCO. He was subsequently placed on a stop order to prevent him from travelling in a manner that could interfere with the investigation.
However, the NPP stalwart denied the allegations, stating that he was only questioned about GH¢5 million.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation Secretariat has alleged that its former Executive Secretary, Miracles Aboagye, requested the removal of portions of a forensic audit report, including findings relating to a bank account that recorded transactions amounting to GH¢102,256,802.69.
According to a statement issued by the Secretariat on July 27, 2026, Mircales Aboagye requested a meeting held on July 18, 2025, at the office of one of his lawyers.
The meeting was attended by the current Executive Secretary, following an invitation conveyed through the lawyer and a mutual friend.
