Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz has named his starting XI for Tuesday’s crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Benjamin Asare gets the nod in goal, replacing Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

In defence, Kojo Oppong Peprah starts at right-back, with Jonas Adjetey coming into the centre alongside Jerome Opoku following Alexander Djiku’s injury.

Gideon Mensah retains his place at left-back as Ghana look to contain The Gambia’s attackers.

Queiroz has retained the midfield and attacking setup, with Kwasi Sibo and Caleb Yirenkyi starting in the middle of the pitch.

Fatawu Issahaku and Ernest Nuamah are named among the attacking options, while Brandon Thomas-Asante also starts.

Felix Afena-Gyan leads the line as Ghana look to produce a stronger attacking performance after their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire in their opening qualifier.

The Black Stars need all three points to get their Group C campaign back on track, while The Gambia arrive in Accra with three points after beating Somalia 2-1 in their opening fixture.

Ghana XI: Benjamin Asare; Kojo Oppong Peprah, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku, Gideon Mensah; Fatawu Issahaku, Kwasi Sibo, Caleb Yirenkyi, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante; Felix Afena-Gyan.
