Joseph Langabel is a former Black stars Chief Drummer
Former Black stars Chief Drummer Joseph Langabel has alleged that some players may have withdrawn from the Black Stars squad because of their relationship with head coach Carlos Queiroz.
According to Langabel, there are claims that some players are unhappy with Queiroz’s return and that this may have influenced their decision not to join the squad.
“What I know, what I hear, whether it’s true or not, it’s alleged that some of the players say they don’t like the coach. That’s why some of the players refuse to come,” he said.

Langabel questioned the decision to continue with the 74-year-old Portuguese coach, arguing that Ghana has several capable local coaches who could work together to lead the team.
“We have intelligent coaches in Ghana. We can team two, three coaches at a time to team up and meet the standard of the rest of the matches when we are going to play,” he added.
He also called for greater opportunities for local players, insisting that the current period should be used to give more Ghana-based players opportunities in the national team.
“The local players are hungry. This is a time for local players,” Langabel added.
