Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola
Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed full support for the club after the Premier League confirmed breaches of 115 of its financial rules following a ruling by an independent commission.
The legendary coach stated that he is aware of the situation and remains firmly behind the club’s hierarchy and technical staff during these trying moments.
The coach, who led the club from 2016 to 2026, urged fans and other club officials to remain calm and expressed hope that the club's leaders would resolve the case favourably, stressing that he deeply loves the club.

“I want every single Manchester City fan across the world to know I am here more than ever. I always have been, always will be, behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo, and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all,” he posted on social media.
The independent commission found that between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, City arranged “sham” commercial contracts that artificially inflated the club’s revenues and reduced its costs.
It also found that the club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from auditors and football regulators. According to the Premier League, the schemes artificially inflated City’s revenues and reduced its costs by more than £900 million during the affected period.
The commission concluded that City “clearly intended to circumvent the PL Rules” and found that the club had been in significant breach of both Premier League and UEFA spending limits.
