Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to unite behind the party’s collective ambitions ahead of the 2028 elections.

Akufo-Addo said the conclusion of the NPP’s 2026 National Annual Delegates Conference should mark the start of a renewed effort to return the party to government.

“The conclusion of the Conference must mark the beginning of the progressive march of the Party’s collective aspirations as ‘One Party, with One Purpose, United for Victory,’” he said.

He called on all members to work together to secure victory in both the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.

“The time has come for all hands on deck so that the Party can emerge victorious from the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections,” Akufo-Addo said in a post on social media.

He said such a victory would pave the way for a new NPP government under the leadership of the party’s presidential candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Akufo-Addo, the next NPP government would focus on promoting “the rule of law and the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian.”

He ended his message by asking for God’s blessing for the NPP and Ghana.
