The Minority in Parliament says only 15 of the 102 people submitted by the National Sports Authority (NSA) in connection with World Cup visa arrangements have been verified as NSA personnel.

According to the Minority, this leaves 87 people whose status as NSA personnel could not be verified.

“The remaining 87, therefore, require explanation,” the statement said.

The caucus says some people on the list were assigned positions which, according to its verification, did not exist within the NSA’s organisational structure.

It cited examples including individuals presented as procurement officers and a chaplain.

The Minority is therefore demanding answers on who prepared, verified and authorised the list submitted to the Canadian Embassy.

It also wants to know why people who could not be verified as NSA personnel were presented through the Authority.

Addressing the press on October 7, 2026, the Minority said an email sent by Yaw Gyamfi Kusi Awere, the Chief Operating Officer of the National Sports Authority, was intended to inform the US Embassy about appointment dates for NSA personnel pursuant to arrangements that had been established.

Twenty-two personnel were introduced in that communication.

However, the Minority said its verification had identified discrepancies in the list.

For example, Comfort Ahiadome was presented as the Board Secretary of the NSA.

At the time, however, the NSA did not have a Board Secretary serving in that capacity. The Authority’s Legal Adviser was doubling as Board Secretary.

Similarly, Fuseini Lukman was presented as the Northern Region Coordinator of the NSA, although the Minority said its verification established that he did not occupy that position.

“There was another significant misrepresentation,” the Minority said.

Felicia Ahiadome was presented as a Procurement Officer of the NSA, even though she was not a Procurement Officer of the Authority.

“These were not merely internal administrative descriptions.

“The information was being communicated to a foreign diplomatic mission for purposes of visa processing.”
