Abomosu STEM Senior High School
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Abomosu STEM Senior High School has expressed sorrow over the death of a Form One student, extending condolences to the bereaved family and appealing to the school community to remain calm as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death proceed.
In a public statement dated October 9, 2026, the PTA said it shared in the grief of the student's parents, family and loved ones, acknowledging the pain associated with the loss of a child.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the parents, family and loved ones of our departed student. Words cannot ease the pain of losing a child,” the statement said.
The association also expressed sympathy for fellow students, teachers and the wider school community, noting that the incident was particularly heartbreaking because it occurred at the early stages of the student's academic journey, while orientation activities were still ongoing.
The PTA acknowledged the sadness and concern the incident had generated among parents and guardians, and recognised the reported investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death.
It urged the public and the school community to exercise patience and sensitivity while the relevant authorities carry out their work.
“As the relevant authorities undertake their work, we appeal for patience and sensitivity, mindful of the family's grief and the well-being of our students,” the statement added.
The statement was signed by the PTA Executive Committee on behalf of the Parent-Teacher Association.
