Agnes Naa Momo Lartey meets with Nana Akua Addo's husband, Norman Harold
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has met Norman Harold, husband of Nana Akua Addo, following his discharge from the hospital, as the ministry prioritises the welfare of the family’s children.
Mr Harold was unavailable when the minister earlier visited the family because he was receiving medical treatment.
During their meeting, Dr Lartey stressed the need to ensure that the children are safe and provided with a stable environment free from conflict and other circumstances that could affect their development.
She also underscored the importance of protecting the children’s emotional wellbeing, adding that their best interests must remain paramount as the relevant institutions work to address the situation.
The ministry further emphasised the need for psychosocial and social welfare support to help safeguard the emotional wellbeing of the entire family.
As part of the intervention, social welfare officers will monitor the children’s welfare and help ensure that their safety and best interests are protected.
The ministry is expected to continue working with the police and other relevant institutions to support the family while investigations into the matter continue.
