Players of All Blacks and Kotoko during the game
Swedru All Blacks continued their dominance over Asante Kotoko with a dramatic 1-0 victory at the Swedru Stadium on Saturday, extending their winning run against the Porcupine Warriors to three consecutive matches.
Wiafe Darkwah scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the dying moments of the game, beating Kotoko goalkeeper Dari Aziz to secure all three points for the Black Magicians.
Despite conceding late, Aziz was one of Kotoko's standout performers, called into action on several occasions to keep his side in the game with important saves. His efforts, however, were not enough to prevent another defeat against Swedru All Blacks.
The home side enjoyed the greater share of possession, recording 65 per cent against Kotoko's 35 per cent. They also won 12 corners, while the visitors failed to win any.
Swedru All Blacks registered seven shots on target, compared to Kotoko's four, as they applied pressure in search of a breakthrough. Kotoko also picked up four yellow cards, with the hosts receiving one.
The victory extends Swedru All Blacks' impressive recent record against Kotoko, having now beaten the Porcupine Warriors in all three of their meetings this year.
The result leaves the two teams level on points in the Ghana Premier League standings.
Kotoko will look to recover when they face Young Apostles in their next fixture, while Swedru All Blacks turn their attention to Karela United.
