Old Tafo MP, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has called for investigations into the World Cup visa controversy to examine everyone allegedly involved in collecting money, rather than focusing only on Tribe Culture First.

Assafuah made the call after referring to a statement by the company’s chief executive, Nana Batin, denying that Tribe Culture First had illegally received $611,000 from private individuals in connection with the arrangements.

In the statement read during the interview, Batin said the company’s agreements were with the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority, and challenged Sports Minister Kofi Adams to provide evidence supporting his claims.

Assafuah argued that investigators should also establish who allegedly collected $10,000 from individuals and how much of that money was paid to Tribe Culture First.

“Kofi Adams should not just go after Tribe Culture First for taking the $3,000 each, but should also go after the people who took $10,000,” he said.

He argued that the investigation should trace the payments and determine who received the money, how much was paid and whether any amount was retained by other parties.

Assafuah also questioned the minister’s reported claim that Tribe Culture First had run away with people’s money, pointing to the company’s denial that it had illegally collected the alleged $611,000.

The MP’s position is that the inquiry should establish the full payment trail and examine the conduct of all parties involved. The claims about the amounts collected and the people who received them remain allegations, while Tribe Culture First has disputed the allegation of illegal receipt of the $611,000.
