Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has refrained from commenting on the declining fortunes of Ghana football.

The former GFA boss appeared at the court premises, where some media personnel approached him as he made his way to the courtroom.

One of the journalists asked the former Confederation of African Football (CAF) Vice-President to share his thoughts on the current state of football in the country amid growing concerns over its performance.

However, Nyantakyi declined to respond, explaining that he was at the court to attend to legal matters and asking the journalists to give him time to leave.

He indicated that he could discuss the matter in detail at a later date and suggested that arrangements could be made for a subsequent conversation.

“Next time, I have a court case now. Please, I don’t have time; I beg you. I am going to the courtroom right now. You can call me,” Nyantakyi said.

Meanwhile, pressure has been mounting on the Kurt Okraku-led GFA administration over the poor performances of various national teams and the declining fortunes of football competitions in the country.

The Black Stars’ defeats to Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have angered fans and some stakeholders, who believe it is time for Kurt Okraku to resign or for the government to dissolve the association to pave the way for reforms.
