The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has held discussions with the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, on opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in education, particularly Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The meeting brought together the Ambassador and members of his delegation, including Daniel Böhme, Deputy Head of Cooperation; Chantel Lahmer, Policy Advisor; and Manuel Ruben, Cultural Attaché.

Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest in education, with emphasis on the role of international cooperation in strengthening technical and vocational training and equipping young people with relevant skills for the world of work.

Haruna Iddrisu underscored the importance of partnerships in supporting Ghana’s education agenda, noting that such engagements provide opportunities to explore collaborations that could improve educational outcomes and prepare young people for the demands of a changing labour market.

TVET remains an important component of Ghana’s efforts to equip young people with practical skills, improve their employability and respond to the needs of industry.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on potential areas of cooperation, building on previous discussions and their shared interest in educational development.

The engagement highlights Ghana’s continued collaboration with international partners, including Germany, to explore opportunities to strengthen education and skills development.
