Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah is the Deputy Minister of Health
Deputy Health Minister and Essikado-Ketan MP, Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has called for an impartial investigation into allegations involving Obuasi Senior High Technical School headmaster Zakaria Abdulai, insisting that his political affiliation should not influence the handling of the case.
Speaking on Adom FM, she said the focus should be on the headmaster’s conduct and the welfare of the students involved.
“We should not politicise such an issue. Even if he is a party chairman, the issue is about his conduct and the welfare of the students involved,” she said.
Her comments follow reports that Abdulai is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Juaben, where he is said to be the constituency secretary and seeking a chairmanship position.
Ayensu-Danquah said the allegations should be investigated on their merits, regardless of his political affiliation.
“Crime does not have political colours or an expiration date. If he is found culpable, he should be punished accordingly,” she added.
She also called for a possible nationwide search to give students the opportunity to report similar concerns without fear of judgement.
“If possible, we should conduct a nationwide search and give students the opportunity to come forward without being judged, so that these issues can be dealt with appropriately,” she said.
