The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has disclosed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has yet to pay the promised GH¢1 million to clubs in the Ghana Premier League.

He indicated that GFA officials and club representatives are expected to meet to discuss the modalities for the payment and other related issues.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM on October 16, 2026, Adu called for the swift disbursement of the funds to help clubs manage their operations and compete effectively.

“No Premier League club has received the promised GH¢1 million. However, I understand that the GFA leadership and the clubs will meet soon to discuss when the money will be paid.

“It is an association we, the clubs, have chosen to join, but we must have funds to run our season rather than depend on the GFA for money. Nevertheless, we are confident that the money will be paid,” he told Asempa FM.

GFA President Kurt Okraku previously announced that the association would provide each Ghana Premier League club with GH¢1 million to ease their financial burden, as the league has gone some time without a major headline sponsor.
