Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Paudel, at a ceremony at the Office of the President in Kathmandu.
Ambassador Bonsu, who is concurrently accredited to Nepal, conveyed the warm greetings of President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana to the Government and people of Nepal.
He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.
He noted the cultural similarities between Ghana and Nepal and commended the warm reception and rich ceremonial traditions of Nepal, including the ceremonial chariot ride to the Presidential Palace.
President Paudel, in receiving the credentials, commended Ambassador Bonsu for his dynamic engagement since assuming office in Beijing, particularly his outreach to the Ghanaian diaspora, drive for investment, and efforts to project Ghana’s image positively in Asia.
He said Ambassador Bonsu’s work was a strong pillar in support of President Mahama’s Rebuilding Ghana Agenda, aimed at restoring economic growth, strengthening international partnerships, and repositioning Ghana as a beacon of opportunity.
“We have already heard and read a lot of amazing things he has done and is doing. We follow his work with admiration,” President Paudel stated.
The Nepalese President expressed his Government’s readiness to deepen friendship with Ghana through cultural exchanges, socio-economic cooperation, and educational exchanges.
“We see great potential in our two nations. Our cultures are rich, our youth are vibrant, and our economies have much to share and learn from each other,” he said.
The two sides held discussions on possible cooperation in student scholarship programmes, cultural festivals, trade in agricultural technology, and tourism promotion.

The ceremony, which marks a new chapter in Ghana-Nepal relations, ended with both sides expressing optimism for a future of mutual respect, friendship, and shared prosperity.
