The NPP is demanding explanation from Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa
The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has alleged that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has dismissed his personal bodyguard over the alleged misappropriation of funds meant for the evacuation of some Ghanaians from South Africa.
According to him, information gathered by the party suggests that the bodyguard allegedly pocketed about $10,000 from funds allocated for the evacuation exercise.
Miracles Aboagye said the NPP is demanding an explanation from the Foreign Affairs Minister to establish the truth behind the allegations and clarify the circumstances surrounding the reported dismissal.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa has sacked his bodyguard, and after we sought information, we gathered that the bodyguard allegedly benefited from $10,000 from the evacuation process. He has since sacked him, so based on that, we are calling on him to come and explain the situation to us because he is the minister, and this is the information we have,” he stated.
Speaking at a press conference, Miracles Aboagye further alleged that there were several discrepancies in the evacuation records provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He claimed that although several individuals did not sign documents acknowledging receipt of financial assistance, they were still recorded as beneficiaries of government funds allocated for the evacuation exercise.
The NPP is therefore demanding clarification from the minister over the alleged financial irregularities and the reported dismissal of his bodyguard.
