An angry husband has issued a warning to his wife's family, claiming that anyone who participates in the burial of his father-in-law will be the next person to die, following revelations that two of the three children he has raised during his 14-year marriage may not be biologically his.

Shaibu Mohammed, popularly known as Chief, made the statements after his wife, Abena Ampomaa, from Adumang in the Ashanti Region, publicly confessed to having children with other men while married to him.

The matter came to light on October 20, 2026, when Abena appeared on Oyerepa Afutuo, a programme on Oyerepa TV that addresses domestic and marital disputes, to plead with her husband for forgiveness.

During the programme, Abena admitted that two of the three children she had with her husband were allegedly fathered by other men.

She explained that she had become pregnant by another man before her marriage but only discovered the pregnancy after the wedding.

She further claimed that marital disagreements and her husband's alleged failure to provide for her needs pushed her to seek financial support from another man, a relationship that also resulted in a pregnancy.

The confession appears to have deepened the marital crisis, with Chief expressing anger over what he considers a betrayal after years of raising the children without knowing the full circumstances of their paternity.

When Chief was contacted during the programme, he expressed frustration over the revelations, questioning whether the children he had raised as his own were biologically his.

He insisted that DNA tests be conducted on all three children to establish their biological paternity.

Chief also alleged that his late father-in-law, identified as Mr Nyame, knew about the paternity issues but failed to inform him.

He further claimed that the deceased had changed the name he had given to one of the children without his consent.

According to Chief, his wife's parents had allegedly been receiving money from the other men while Abena continued living with him as his wife.

“I want DNA tests on all three children. After that, I will calculate all the expenses I have incurred in raising them and demand compensation before agreeing to settle this issue,” he stated.

Chief maintained that he had spent years providing for the children and felt deeply hurt by the revelation that two of them might not be biologically his.

“Where I have taken this issue to is too far and anybody who buries your father will be the next person,” he declared.

“If I tell you that I have no hand in your father's death, then that is not true…If this issue is not settled, I will make sure all your family members die in line, and you will be the last person to die,” he threatened.

Meanwhile, Abena has appealed to her husband to forgive her, admitting that she wronged him by failing to disclose the children's paternity earlier.

Speaking on the programme, she said fear had prevented her from telling Chief the truth when she first discovered that two of the children might not be his.

“I came here this afternoon to beg my husband, Shaibu Mohammed, to forgive me my sins,” she said.

She further explained that when she eventually confessed, her husband questioned why she had kept the information from him for so long.

Abena also alleged that Chief had threatened to stop providing for the children, insisting that she should take responsibility for their upkeep after he had spent years raising them.

According to her, her husband had also warned that he would not allow the children's biological fathers or anyone else to assist her, threatening to harm anyone who attempted to do so.

In an emotional appeal, Abena pleaded with Chief to forgive her.

“Please, let all spirits, heaven and earth bear witness that I have wronged you. Please forgive me,” she said.
