Asamoah Gyan and Appiah stadium
Football commentator Appiah Stadium has appealed to former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan to contest for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency, insisting that he could help rescue Ghana football from its current challenges.
Appiah Stadium made this plea while launching a scathing attack on incumbent GFA president Kurt Okraku and his vice, accusing them of damaging the country's football.
“Kurt and his vice have destroyed Ghana football. Asamoah, come and save Ghana football,” he said.
He argued that Asamoah Gyan enjoys massive public support and believes the former Black Stars striker has the influence and popularity needed to make a difference in Ghana football administration.

“When we say football grace, that dwells on you. Even if it is politics that had brought you up, Mahama or Bawumia can't come close to you. People love you. Why don't you come and save Ghana football?” he added.
Appiah Stadium also expressed reservations about efforts to promote another candidate to succeed Kurt Okraku, stating that a change in leadership would not necessarily address the problems confronting Ghana football.
He maintained that retaining Okraku would be preferable to electing the individual being promoted by some football stakeholders, although he insisted that Gyan would be a better option.
“I am pleading with you to have a change of mind and come and save Ghana football by contesting as the GFA president,” Appiah Stadium said.
