Background

Lancaster and Arrangement were picked up by the FBI in May 2026, shortly after arriving in the United States.

According to allegations in court documents, from about July 2024 to April 2026, the defendants targeted older Americans on dating websites and social media platforms as part of romance fraud schemes.

What we know about Arrangement and Lancaster’s arrest by the FBI

The defendants allegedly conspired with others to use fake personas to establish close, personal relationships with the victims, which were often romantic in nature.

After being misled by false stories, the victims sent money via wire transfers to financial accounts controlled by members of the conspiracy.

Portions of the funds were then provided to co-conspirators in Ghana and elsewhere. It also detailed that the victims collectively lost more than $9 million.
